For the record...

Levi thinks that Aunt Angie and Uncle Scott are going to have a girl!

Tonight after his bedtime "Jesus Story" of the man who said thank-you, Matt and Levi were discussing what they could say thank-you to Jesus for. After some brainstorming, Levi told Matt that he wanted to say thank-you for Henry's sister. Matt made sure he heard Levi correctly and Levi repeated it to him - Henry's sister!

So, time will tell if Levi knew what he was talking about...

The other one bites the dust!

Whether it was the power of positive suggestion or just a powerful flu bug doesn't matter...whatever it was struck Matt last night!

We've got a 48-hour flu cycle going on at our house - I'm a little concerned for a second go-round on Monday night!

Two down, one to go?

For most of this winter, our family has managed to avoid major sickness (unlike last winter with Levi's continuous ear infections). Then Tuesday night hit...

Matt put Levi to bed at normal time and a half hour later, Levi was crying in his bed. Levi has been honing his stalling skills lately, so this wasn't totally unexpected. What Matt found when he went upstairs, however, was quite the sight -- Levi was standing in his crib buck-naked! He said to Matt "bi-per off" and then repeated (in case Matt couldn't see) "I took a bi-per off". Matt reapplied the diaper, put Levi back to bed, and we had a little chuckle about Levi's actions.

Fast forward to screaming from Levi's room at 12:30 AM. I went in to check on Levi and found myself walking in a mess of vomit. Now I'm the one screaming for Matt to come and help me! After much clean-up (sheets, clothes, Levi - not in that order), we all head back to bed. Then 45 minutes later, the screaming starts again and we replay the whole scene again - only this time Levi throws-up twice before heading back to bed. After two false alarm screams at 3:30 and 6:30, we finally started our day at 9 AM with a buck-naked Levi in his crib and one more throw-up on Mommy for good measure!

The rest of Wednesday and Thursday went by without much incident (other than messy Levi diapers) and we thought we were home free...until I woke up around 4 AM on Friday morning. As Matt can attest, I love my sleep, so for me to wake up at that time of the morning must mean something is wrong! I grabbed a bowl from the kitchen to keep by the bed and it came in handy around 6 AM (and 8:30 and noon). Yes, the stomach flu struck me too! Matt had headed to work at 6:30 (I thought I was feeling better), but after Levi woke up with a blown-out diaper all over himself and his crib, Matt hurried back home to take care of Levi for the day. Thanks, Honey!

After spending most of Friday in bed, getting a good night of sleep, and taking a shower, I am feeling much better today. Matt slept in the basement last night in hopes of avoiding the flu germs I spread in our bed (the only time during our marriage that we have slept apart when we've both been home). I hope for all of our sakes that he remains healthy!

Morning with Mommy

Levi and I met up with Henry and Angie at the mall this morning. En route to the pretzel shop, we made a stop at the carousel for the boys to take their first spin! Levi was all smiles during his ride, but he was quite upset when the music ended and we had to get off.

Levi passed up the traditional horse to ride the frog instead -- there was a duck on it, no question!

I am TWO!!

Last Saturday, Levi celebrated his Golden Birthday -- he turned 2 on the 2nd of the month! He had two parties, both with gold decorations and golden lion cakes.

After much coaching during the week leading up to his birthday about how old he was going to be, Levi proudly declared on his birthday "I am TWO!" He loved it when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him and after the first time through he said "Happy Birt-day a me, agin?"-- so we sang it to him again!
